Activities
Mountain View Christian Academy is proud to have a continuously growing selection of various activities taking place both in and out of the classroom.
Check out the different options below and feel free to reach out with questions you may have!

School Culture
Character development is of the uttermost importance here at MVCA. We believe that working together outside of our peer groups aids such development. We are proud to offer multiple opportunity for all grades to mix and interact.

Spiritual Emphasis Week
Every Spring, MVCA hosts a week of in-depth spiritual teaching. Pastors and teachers from local churches visit our school and speak on a new focused theme every year.

Missions
Every other year, our grade 11 and 12 students have the opportunity to go on a missions trip! This year MVCA will be going to Guatemala through Impact Ministries Canada.
Past Missions Trip Destinations:
Costa Rica
Nicaragua
Israel

Field Trips
Venturing out together on school field trips is a part of what makes our school special! In the fall the students enjoy swimming and skating, while the winter time brings the exciting opportunity to visit our beautiful ski hill, Shames Mountain to ski, snowboard, or go tubing!

Life Skills
Life Skills class encompasses skills learning in a host of different fields such as shop, woodworking, gardening and wood-burning. We desire to teach our students beyond basic academics, to enrich their learning with new skills that will take them through life as they mature and grow.

Robotics
Grades 7 and 8 spend a semester learning the art of coding. They have the unique opportunity to hone and develop skills in robotics.

High School Campout
Twice a year, our high schoolers have the opportunity to go on a campout and make memories that last a lifetime! Each trip is filled with games, fellowship and worship.

Archery Week
Each spring, our whole school has the special opportunity to learn archery. Throughout the week, each class takes time every day to practice their skills in preparation for the tournament at the end of the week.

Community Service
A huge part of our school culture is serving and looking out for our community. We seek to live that out practically by doing yard work for seniors, helping people move and anything else that comes to our attention.

Science Fair
MVCA's annual Science Fair takes place every spring. Together we take a day to celebrate science and share our discoveries. This is a great opportunity for students to practice their presentation skills and to peak their interest in the wonderful world of science!

Barkerville Trip
Every other year, Mrs. Johnson takes students from grades 4 & 5 on a field trip to Barkerville. This memorable trip gives the students the opportunity to see some of BC's history in action!

Media Design
Media Design is a newer offering her at MVCA! Students will learn the ins and outs of videography and editing all while using professional editing software.
